Q. My scalp is really sore and I am now suffering with hair loss. Is there anything you could recommend?

Answer.

Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear about the issues you have been having with

your scalp and hair.

Scalp issues can occur due to a various factors: Infection, using harsh chemicals, sensitivity, allergies, illness, skin conditions, hormone imbalance etc.

I would recommend first visiting your GP to assess if you have a scalp infection or issue that they could advise and help with.

Scalp problems can affect hair growth and really disrupt the hair growth cycle

I always try to promote taking care of the scalp as it is so important for healthy hair growth.

When suffering from a scalp condition it can be very difficult to refrain from scratching or rubbing the area, but doing so can make the situation worse and cause infection.

A 123 step home remedy that you could try is

1. Treatment with tea tree oil and rosemary oil
2. Cleanse with a gentle tea tree shampoo
3. Rinse with cider vinegar

Tea Tree oil for scalp issues infection

Tea tree has known anti inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties

Rosemary is known to increase microcirculation and aid healing

Apple Cider Vinegar has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties that prevents all the bacterial, fungal and viral activities on your scalp. It has the property to balance the pH levels of the scalp to clear itchiness and dryness. This helps to grow your hair healthy without any dandruff and other scalp problems.

Items you will need:

Rosemary oil

Tea Tree oil

Pure coconut oil

Apple cider vinegar with mother / White vinegar

Empty bottle (at least 250ml)

Tablespoon

Small bowl

Towel

Step 1.

Take a table spoon of pure coconut oil and warm gently to melt.
Add 4 drops of Teatree oil and 3 drops of rosemary oil
Mix together
Using the pads of your fingers, gently spread the oil with your fingers over the entire scalp taking care not to rub or scratch.
Wrap hair in towel and Leave this on for about an hour.
(I would do this 2 - 3 times per week for 4 weeks to see if there is an improvement, then if you see an improvement, carry on treating for 1 week after it appears to have totally disappeared)

.....................

Step 2.

I would recommend a shampoo like Simple or baby shampoo and add about 10 drops of tea tree oil to the whole bottle of shampoo and shake before each use so that you have a tea tree infused gentle shampoo. Wash very gently trying to avoid rubbing.

.....................

Step 3.

Then use a cider vinegar rinse:
Mix 1:1 white vinegar or cider vinegar with mother with the same amount of water in a bottle and use this as a rinse. Ensure there is no shampoo left in the hair or scalp
Pat dry and try to let dry naturally.
